Michelle Davis
Violinist Michelle Davis joined the Colorado Springs Philharmonic in 2009. Born in Plattsburgh, NY, she moved to Denver with her husband in 2004 after they both graduated from the University of Michigan.
Ms. Davis’ musical education has taken her many places. During high school she moved to Cleveland to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Young Artists Program, attending regular high school in the mornings and taking music classes in the afternoons. In Cleveland she studied with Linda Cerone and David Updegraff, continuing to work with them in the summer by attending the Encore School for Strings. She then moved to Ann Arbor, MI, where she stayed for 6 years, studying with Paul Kantor and then Andrew Jennings. At the end of her time in MI, Ms. Davis had successfully earned a Bachelors of Music, a Masters of Violin Performance and a Masters of Chamber Music from the University of Michigan.
Besides performing regularly with the CSPO, Ms. Davis maintains a private violin studio in her home. She also performs with the Colorado Ballet Orchestra and enjoys freelancing in the Denver area.
