Diane Israel

Diane Israel, violinist, played in the former Colorado Springs Symphony during her junior and senior years of high school. After receiving her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Denver and her Masters of Music from Northern Illinois University, she rejoined the orchestra in 1981. Her principal teachers include James Maurer, Charles Castleman, and Shmuel Ashkenasi of the now-retired Vermeer Quartet.

Diane has been a member of the Denver Chamber Orchestra, Rockford (IL) Symphony, and Akron (OH) Symphony. She also attended the Quartet Program in Troy, NY from 1973-75. Combining her love of music with early childhood education, she has taught in the District 11 Special Education Department since 2007.
