Why We're Here

Our Mission Statement: The Colorado Springs Philharmonic performs symphonic music at the highest professional level to educate and entertain diverse audiences in the Pikes Peak region.

Stage view of audience at Pikes Peak Center

From our Classical and Pops and Family performances at the Pikes Peak Center to the Young People’s Concerts especially for school groups to the intimate Mozart and Friends series performed at venues throughout the community, we have something for everyone and we’re reaching out across the region to bring it to you. We collaborate with other local arts groups to offer a variety of programs from holiday sing-alongs to ballet, and we showcase the best guest artists, be they world-renowned or the newest discovery. Our Philharmonic First program encourages those who have never attended a concert to “bring a friend” with a complimentary ticket and also includes a guide to classical music. Finally, our Pre-Concert Conversations offer Classical concertgoers an opportunity to hear the conductor’s and guest artist’s insights on the upcoming program one hour before each concert.

Orchestra membersWhy Your Gift Is So Important

Ticket sales cover only 50% of the cost of our performances. We strive to keep ticket prices reasonable so that everyone can attend, and that means we must make up the difference through contributions from our supporters, corporate sponsors and charitable foundations. Your support is critical to our very existence, and gifts of any size help to keep the music playing. Your gift has a far-reaching effect on the quality of life in our community: by sustaining the orchestra, you are helping to attract and keep highly trained professional musicians here to perform, teach and share their talents in our schools and churches, as well as through private musical instruction and in a wide variety of musical groups.
